Preparing Your Home for a Successful Sale
13 August 2021
If you’re thinking about selling your property this Autumn, we have some tips for you!
Tracy French, Property Manager details the ‘must do’ jobs that require ticking off in order to give your property the best chance of a successful sale!
Must Do
Deep clean your property, including carpets and windows. After this, think about your décor and make tweaks if necessary, these could include touching up paintwork or replacing bathroom grout.
There are also external jobs that can be checked such as the roof, cleaning the guttering, and looking at your external window paintwork, these are important to tick off before ordering your Home Report.
First Impressions
First impressions always count. It is advisable you stand back and look at the entrance to the property. A freshly painted front door and some eye catching plant pots can make a huge difference!
If you own a garden, give it a tidy up by cutting the grass, trim shrubs and even add seasonal plants for some extra colour!
Set the Scene
Staging your home is so important for selling, as we are inevitably all drawn to attractive homes. Attempt to balance the styled look with your home’s personality and warmth.
Always allow room for viewers to move around effortlessly, and emphasise the windows, particularly if there’s an attractive outlook – we are all naturally drawn to this.
For empty properties, it is beneficial to hire a property styling company, or perhaps virtually staging your photography. The latter is particularly helpful as it encourages buyers to visualise how the property will look when it is furnished.
