A 427 MILLION BOOST FOR THE HOMES MARKET
21 January 2019
THE national media has been painting a downbeat picture of the UK property market.
But Tayside sellers and buyers alike have no reason to feel despondent.
A vibrant local market contrasts starkly with talk of a “challenging environment” in London and the south east of England.
Not for the first time, property market conditions prevailing in and around the capital are not reflected in what is happening locally.
That is borne out by figures released by the Tayside Solicitors Property Centre, which enjoyed another successful year teaming-up sellers and buyers across the region.
The TSPC has reported that sales in Dundee, Angus and north Fife last year edged past the 2700 mark.
That all adds up to a massive £427 million vote of confidence in the local market.
The Centre in Dundee’s Whitehall Crescent welcomed nearly 3000 properties onto the market over the course of the year, with an average of 66 new properties being profiled every week.
TSPC manager Lynne Hill said the figures underline that the local market is in fine fettle moving into 2019 and wasn’t being dragged down by uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
“Around 83% of homes changing hands are sold to buyers within a 25-mile radius and the TSPC remains the No 1 local agency for marketing the full range of properties,” she said.
“With member law firms handling the sale of 2969 properties over the last 12 months and our website clocking-up over 10.6 million hits, it’s clear the market is in rude health. Potential buyers aren’t merely looking but buying, which is encouraging for anyone thinking of introducing their home to the market over the next few months.”
The tools at the disposal of TSPC member firms are extensive, with a proven track record.
Sellers enjoy access to a tried, tested and trusted marketing strategy, with experienced, local staff operating in their clients’ best interests.
Remember, only your solicitor can secure access to the unrivalled cost-effective shop window that is the TSPC, complete with profiles on the popular website – the area’s first port of call for the great majority of buyers locally,- and the SPC national network, along with inclusion in the freely available fortnightly Property Guide.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that the members of the ever evolving TSPC have been selling homes for more than 50 years and continue to market more local properties than all other local agencies put together.
When it comes to offering generations of local clients a service designed to match-up buyers and sellers that certainly suggests we are getting it right.
